Study Skills and Memory- An Interactive Workshop for the Development of Study Skills
A comprehensive program designed for teachers and their classroom aides with the ultimate goal being to provide lasting organic behavioral change. In order for a study skills and memory program to be effective, the value and ease of adaptability is critical. This program does so through assignments which can be assimilated into the existing coursework and across multiple academic skill levels. Although this interactive presentation is designed to benefit both the instructor and the students, the skills taught should not be viewed as a “one time” special project in the classroom. The techniques learned will need to be nurtured, developed, and reinforced in order to become the student’s “go-to” default when studying. It is essential for these study skills to become "habits" for the lifelong learner in order to make these changes lasting. The program runs approximately 1½ hours in length with the variation due to the interactive nature of the exercises. Follow up and reinforcement of these techniques are available in either a group or on an individual basis.
